Sharon Kay Sandlin, age 83 of Seguin, Passed away on April 13, 2024. Kay was born on October 6, 1940, to Elvira Corrine (Essex) and William Joseph Reeder.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Jack Sandlin; son, Christopher Lee Ticer, and sister, Frances Coker.

Survivors include her children, Trea Schmidt (Brian), Denise Sandlin Wood (Brent); sister, Carolann Gibson (Kent); grandchildren, Christopher Lee Ticer II (Courtney), Beverly Ticer Loftus (Darrell), Tiffany Ticer (Tyrel Santiago), Macy Stiles, Haylee Sandlin Wood, Cody Daniel Wood, Chris Schmidt (Angie) and Cheryl Hicks (Mike); 17 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.

Kay was known as the life of the party. She had a joy in dressing up for Halloween and enjoying those around her. She was a huge collector of Christmas Santa Claus and will have enough to share throughout her family that will bring memories for a lifetime. She took pride as a grandmother, even taking her grandchildren once a month so her children could enjoy a short break. Kay worked in road construction for over 20 years. During that time, she drove every piece of heavy equipment she needed to get the job done. She was not afraid and did her job very well. She also worked at Comanche Crossing Country Store for 20 years. She loved all the customers and all the time spent there with friends and family. Kay was known for her chili. She took part in chili competitions all over Central Texas and won many competitions.

Visitation will begin on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jeremey Roy officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Cato, Clay DeLany, Bobbie Stasney, Mark Green, Austin Ridgeway and Raymond "Curly" Herrera. Honorary pallbearer will be Brutus Auten.
