Sheila Bassett Webel went to our Lord the morning of Monday, June 30, 2014. Born August 17, 1960 to Virgil and Bertie Bassett in Puerto Rico where her father worked during the time of her birth. Sheila was raised in the small town of Port Lavaca, TX and graduated from Calhoun High School in 1978. Although a native Texan, she relocated and lived in Pennsylvania for 12 years working in the insurance field. Sheila returned to Texas and moved to Seguin to be with her sister in the summer of 2011 where she continued to work in insurance. Sheila was always known for her fun approach to life, she was an avid reader, LOVED old movies and TV shows that took her back to her childhood. She was known as the trivia queen between her friends and family and was a wonderful baker in which those friends and family benefited from! She was passionate about animals, in particular cats and proudly supported the ASPCA. Sheila is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Bertie Bassett of Minnesota; sisters, Carla Janes and husband Dave of Minnesota and Lisa Leopold and husband Jim of Seguin; nieces, Sarah Hoffman and Katie Shuster; great-nieces, Kylie and Karlie; and one nephew, Dakota Leopold; and her beloved cat, Tina. Private services will be held with family members with her final resting place at Memory Gardens in Victoria, Texas.
