Sherrie Joan Powers went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2024, at the age of 81.  She was born on May 10, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joan Catherine (Burke) and Gene Weldon Brady.

Sherrie was a devoted wife, loving mother, Sunday school teacher, neighbor and friend.  After graduating from the University of Minnesota with her nursing degree, she became a profound force in her profession. After moving to Seguin, Sherrie worked tirelessly as a Guadalupe Regional Medical Center Volunteer, working specifically with Hospice services and the Hospice gala.

She is preceded in death by husband Robert Eugene Powers, her parents, and her brother David Brady.

Survivors include daughter Patricia Torkelson; son Michael Powers (Michelle); three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pam Davis (Bob), and Nancy Amundsen (Kevin); and Joan Brady (sister-in-law).

Celebration of Life service will be held, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 and 10:30 a.m. at Cross Church, 814 North Bauer Street, Seguin, TX  78155, with the Reverend Jim Price officiating.
