Obituary

SMsgt Ellic Earl Boutwell, USAF (Ret.), age 87 of Seguin, passed away on August 28, 2016. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. with the rendering of Military Honors at 5 p.m. under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 in Seguin. Private interment will be held at a later date. Ellic was born on January 7, 1929 in Shaw, Mississippi to David Louis and Virginia Ora (White) Boutwell. Ellic married the love of his life, Bernice Allene Christiansen Boutwell on June 12, 1953. He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. For over 22 years he served with the Strategic Air Command logging over 10,000 hours in the air. Ellic loved his family and his country and gave all to both. He is preceded in death by his son, David Boutwell, his grandson, Paul Boutwell, his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Bernice A. Boutwell; sons, Gregory Boutwell, Jeffrey Boutwell and wife Wendy, Roger Boutwell and wife Diane, and Brian Boutwell; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245, P. O. Box 503, Seguin, Texas, 78156.
