Sonia Montoya-Schneider, age 44 of Seguin, passed away on January 8, 2017. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The recitation of the holy rosary will be at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Sonia was born on February 24, 1972 in Seguin Texas to Gilbert, Sr. and Eva (Rodriguez) Montoya. She worked in the Financial Aid Department at Texas Lutheran University. Survivors include her loving husband Richard Schneider; daughters, Camrynne Baker and Macey Schneider; parents, Gilbert, Sr. and Eva Montoya; siblings, Gilbert Montoya, Jr. and wife Candy, Diane De La Garza and husband John, Lett Montoya and Mike Homan, Christine Perez; David Montoya and wife Adriene; Alyssa Montoya and husband Mark Castillo; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Montoya, Jordan De La Garza, Jonathan Perez, Brandon Perez, Quintin Poyner and Valen Poyner.
