SSG William James Miller, USA (ret.), age 69 of Germany passed away on April 20, 2010. Private family graveside services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. SSG Miller was born on April 25, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and after. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Tietbert Hering. Survivors include his loving wife, Ida E. Miller; daughters, Beatrix (Patty) Hernandez and husband Aaron and Marina Hernandez and husband Arturo; sons, Norbert Hering and wife Sieglind, George Hering and wife Sonya, and Robert Hering; daughter-in-law, Karen Hering; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several siblings in Philadelphia, Pa.
