Stayton W. Finch, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on May 4, 2011. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date. Stayton was born on November 17, 1929 in Gonzales County to Stayton Ellis and Agnes Decker Finch. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 38 years of employment with Guadalupe Blanco River Authority. He will be remembered as a master of the scroll saw working with wood where some of his highlights included 3 D pictures, the Lord's Prayer and Angels. He loved trot line fishing, hunting and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward Lee Finch and Charles Finch and his son-in-law, Freddy Lewis. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ella Mae Finch; daughters, Debbie Lewis and Robin Finch; grandson, Brandon Finch and wife Samantha; brother, John A. Finch; sister, Mary Ann Streety and husband Pete; sisters-in-law, Mary Ehler, Anne Finch, Dottie Garrison and husband Gene and Florence Baker and husband Ronnie; brothers-in-law, James (Buddy) Wolff and wife Shirley, and Robert Lee (Bubba) Wolff and wife Sandra; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved dog and faithful companion, Gizmo.
