Obituary

Stella Joyce McNutt was born March 3, 1927 in Orange, Texas and went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2014. Stella married Wade Glen McNutt on November 21, 1947. Stella graduated from San Angelo College as a Registered Nurse, she retired in 1984. She joined an Art League and painted many beautiful pictures. She was the Summer Camp Cook at Blue Streak Stables for 10 years and enjoyed the children who came to summer horsemanship camps. She was active with the church and was in the organization Dewville United Methodist Women (UMW). During her time with them she held position of President and also, financial officer. Stella loved animals. She had horses during her life. Her first horse was named "Silver Streak" that she received as a foal. She cared, broke and trained for riding. Even though she never had riding lessons. When it came time, she broke and trained the Streak for riding herself with no help from any one. They shared a true unconditional love that grew. Her mother and father never knew anything about horses. Stella was a rancher and usually kept around 10 cows and bull. Instead of using a cattle shoot to run them in the trailer, like normal ranchers; she would teach them to jump in the trailer. Each cow had a name. Stella would run the fence lines and repair the barbed wire fences herself. At one point, she was proud of the fact that at 86 years old, she was walking 2 miles a day. At 87, she would walk one mile every evening, if neighbors were out in the yard she would stop and talk. When she walked by horse's on the walk she would make a "whinny and nickering" sounds to them. She could imitate a horse really well. She also, enjoyed arrowhead hunting, traveling, cooking, and gardening. She loved playing Blackjack at the casinos. She would travel once or twice a year on the bus. She would actually come back with winnings. Most of all she loved her family, friends, and her faith. Stella enjoyed writing notes and letters to friends and loved ones. Stella is survived by her 3 children; her daughter Reba Joy Martinez, and her husband Larry Martinez of Seguin, Texas and granddaughter Larissa Joy Martinez of Breckenridge, CO. Son Wade Glen McNutt of Weatherford, Texas and son William Edward McNutt, his wife Traci Noelle McNutt of Weatherford Texas, and grandson Wade Garrett McNutt of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by her special friend A.B. Menasco of Seguin, Texas. Memorial services will be held Saturday July 5 at 10:00 am at the Dewville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Alex officiating, located at FM 1117 and CR 121 in Gonzales County Texas. Donations may be made to Dewville United Methodist Church, P. O.
