Stephen A. Arce, age 79 of Seguin, passed away on April 27, 2025. Stephen was born on November 8, 1945 in Seguin, Texas, to Petra (Andrada) and Gregorio Arce.
He proudly served his country in the Texas National Guard and retired from a career in Civil Service.
Stephen valiantly fought cancer two times and held no fear in any battle that he encountered. He enjoyed gambling and you also might find him purchasing lotto tickets. Watching Dallas Cowboy Football games and old westerns on the television were favorite pastimes. Many good times were spent fishing with family and friends in Rockport, Texas. Stephen loved good food and always enjoyed a catfish meal at Clear Springs Restaurant. He was loved by many and will be missed.
Stephen is preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Afflerbach, his baby boy Arce, his parents, his brothers, Juan, Alex, Louis, and Jimmy Arce, and his sister, Susan Garza.
Survivors include his wife Angie Arce; daughters, Geneva Arce, and Christine Magallanes (Arthur); son, Stephen Arce, Jr. (Jessica); grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Brandon, Stephen Trae, Xaevier, Alissa, and Lauryn; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gregory Arce; fur baby, Buddy; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Canon Stanislaw Fiuk officiating.
Private interment will be held at a later date in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
