Obituary

Sue Anne Albin Guenther, age 78 of Seguin, was met at the gates of Heaven on June 1, 2019 by her parents Grant and Jean Albin, her husband Matthew, and her faithful Yorkie, Tigger. Visitation will begin on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Sue was born on November 4, 1940, in Bowling Green, Ohio and was a teacher until complications of a brain aneurysm and stroke in 2001 ended her teaching career early. She taught Theatre Arts, English, Speech, and Journalism in the Navarro, Nixon-Smiley, and Seguin school districts. She enjoyed her time in Nixon-Smiley most of all. Sue was a huge reader, loved old movies and cooking shows, and never missed Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights. Survivors include her children, Sarah Guenther of Seguin, Matt Guenther and wife Dianne of Austin, and Ben Guenther and wife Misti of Seguin; grandchildren, Leah, Evan, and Carter Guenther of Austin; sister-in-law, Yvonne Guenther of Seguin; nephew Andrew Guenther of Richmond, nieces Sherlyn Guenther Tarpley and husband Scott, Lugenia Guenther, and Mandy Guenther Toombs and husband Jeff, all of Merkel; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Guenther, Ricky Abrameit, Zack Abrameit, Jeff Toombs, Hayden Toombs, and John Mundine. Sue would have loved memorial contributions that benefit animals, children, public television, or libraries.
