Terry Lee Akins, age 60 of Stockdale, formerly of the Seguin area, passed away on January 28, 2011. Memorial services with military honors will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Marlyn Cowey officiating. Interment will be held privately in the Staples Cemetery at a later date. Terry was born on January 2, 1951 in Branson, Missouri to Lemual Richard and Sybil Fern Rogers Akins. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He will be remembered as an electrician. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Wendelin Gail Akins. Survivors include his wife, Karen Stacy Akins; step-son, Michael Stacy; step-grandchild, Jeremy Stacy; brothers, Michael Roy Akins and wife, Tina; Richard Louis Akins; sister, Susan Burdette; aunts, Jo Harrington and husband Roy, Ginny Kirby and husband Wayne and Beth Miller and husband Gil; uncles, Frank Akins, John Rogers, Jim Rogers and wife Debbie and Ralph Journagan; mother-in-law, Lillian Sweeten Pape; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
