Obituary

Theresa “Terry” Gutierrez, 86, passed away on November 2, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to all who knew her.

Born on April 16, 1940, in Victoria, Texas, Terry was an incredible woman full of generosity and compassion. Terry served as a teacher in Austin, Texas and devoted her life to caring for others. Her home and heart were always open, and she found joy in making those around her feel loved.

Above all, Terry cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sibling whose love was unconditional. To her beloved husband, Carlos “Charlie” Gutierrez, she was his everything, his “prieta”. Their life together was a testament to a deep and lasting love.

Terry will be remembered for her selfless, generous spirit. Her family will especially treasure the memory of her loving embraces, which brought comfort, reassurance, and an unmistakable sense of being loved. Her kindness and love were a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Terry is survived by her beloved husband, Carlos “Charlie” Gutierrez; her daughters, Christine Welty (Erik) and Catherine Biggins (Mark); her grandchildren, Kristin Atterberry (Jon) and Skyler Biggins; and her great-grandchildren, Amelia Hunter, Jack Atterberry, Greyson Atterberry, and Atlas Atterberry. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Gomez Jr., Alice Gomez, and Ponce Gomez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Raymond Gomez, and her siblings, David Gomez and Rose Vasquez.

Terry's memory will forever be cherished. Though she will be truly missed, the love she so generously shared will remain in the hearts of those who were so lucky to know her.
