Thomas E. (Tom) Sammons, age 57 of Guadalupe County, passed away on February 18, 2013. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, February, 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. A reception will follow at the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. Private interment will be held in Colorado at a later date. Tom was born on November 3, 1955 in Pineville, Louisiana to Kenneth E. Sammons and Betty Hamm Sammons White. Tom was a 26 year employee with United Parcel Service (UPS) and was planning on retiring on February 28, 2013. He was excited to be starting a new venture in pipeline welding. Tom loved spending time with his family and also riding his Harley Davidson Bike. He is preceded in death by his father and his uncle, David Elmo Sammons. Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Sammons; daughter, Jennifer Zinsmeister and husband Mason; son, Tyler Sammons; step-sons, Byron DuVall, Jonathan DuVall and Dalton Janysek; grandsons, Bryer Waters and Benson Zinsmeister; granddaughter whom will be born in May, Brielle Zinsmeister; mother, Betty White and husband Jim; brothers, Rusty White and wife Kathleen, David Sammons and wife Chris, Jimmy White, Michael Sammons and Darryle White; sister, Karen Matrenga; uncle, Neiland Sammons and wife Louise; numerous other loving family members and friends.
