Tillie Strauss Kutac Cuttin Wharton, age 98 of Seguin, passed away on February 26, 2010. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Tillie was born February 20, 1912 in Shiner, Texas to Otto and Agnes Netardus Strauss. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Judy Kutac Holecek, husband Victor Kutac, husband Luigi Cuttin, 2 sisters and 6 brothers. She is survived by her husband Charles Wharton, daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Bob Elliott of Seguin, son and daughter-in-law James and Kathy Kutac of Humble, son-in-law James Holecek of Cedar Park and step-son Richard Wharton of Richardson. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Strauss of Shiner, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. numerous nieces and nephews. Tillie was a resident of Seguin for 68 years. She was a typesetter, reporter, and editor for the Seguin Gazette and the Seguin Enterprise, serving as the Society Editor of the Enterprise for several years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church for 68 years. She was also a member of the Guadalupe Valley Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary H.U. Wood Post #245, the Delphian Club, and St. Anne's Circle. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Elliott, Kenneth Holecek, Mark Holecek, Joshua Kutac, Robert Teas, Paul Teas, Josh Grothues and Jeremy Grothues. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Ann Bertling, Tammy Grothues, Paula Castillo, Josie Weidner, Amy Rangel and Santa Smith.
