January 15, 1955 – February 4, 2021
Travis Edward Gage, age 66, passed away peacefully February 4, 2021. His battle with cancer has come to an end. He was fifth child of Stafford (Buck) Gage and Willene Jones Gage. Born in San Saba Texas on January 15, 1955. Travis and Katherine Bolding Gage were married for almost 35 years. During that time, they enjoyed traveling, singing with the choir, working and playing with their sons and grandsons. He loved his family, enjoyed tinkering in his shop, building things, traveling, gardening and cooking.
He was 26 when he received his master plumber's license. He owned his own plumbing company for a few years in Austin and was proud of the work he did on new luxury homes. He retired from the City of Austin as a commercial plumbing inspector in July, 2009 and moved to his beloved San Saba, where he enjoyed fishing, gardening and the First United Methodist Church. In 2019 he moved to Seguin Texas to be closer to his sons and grandchildren. He was a member of the Round Rock Community Choir and loved to sing and perform. He enjoyed his fellow choir members and had fun wearing unique costumes. Travis was kind and patient and funny. He liked to tell jokes and stories about his grandkids. He was a fierce competitor when it came to games and took great delight in winning.
He is preceded in death by his parents, His brother, Glen Gage, and his sister, Evelyn Gage Doyle.
Survivors include his wife, sons Coulter Gage and David Gage both of Seguin TX and four grandchildren, Brandyn Gage, Coulter David Gage, Gabhan Gage and Kayelee Mae Gage. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Cathe Evins officiating. Interment will follow in the San Geronimo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Gage, Robby Gage, Kirk Gage, Chad Bolding, Will Boswell and Virgil Reyes. All CDC protocols must be followed including social distancing, limited seating and face coverings worn.
