Obituary

Vennis Mae Welch Vogt age 100 of Seguin, passed away on July 24, 2018. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Mr. Charles Goodnight officiating. Interment will follow at McNeil Cemetery near Luling, Texas. Vennis was born on April 19, 1918 in McNeil, Texas to John William Welch, Sr. and Ruth Belle Etheridge Welch. At the time of her death, Vennis was the oldest living member of Walnut Street Church of Christ in Seguin, where she and her husband Herman were active members for many years. She enjoyed working at Vordenbaum Gift Shop for several years. Vennis also enjoyed her membership in the Seguin Garden Club. Her most precious time was spent being "Grandma" to all her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Herman H. Vogt, her parents, granddaughter Elizabeth Ann McGowen, her brother, Victor Vareese Welch and his wife Ava Lorene, sister, Vivian Florene Welch Hall and husband Ray, brothers-in-law, Clark Vogt and wife Hazel, and Wayne Grantham and sister-in-law, Marjorie Welch. . Survivors include her children William Vogt and wife Judy, Gary Vogt and wife Lee, and Judy Vogt Davis and husband Ralph; grandchildren Valerie Gutterson and husband Keith, Harold Vogt and wife Jennifer, Brian Vogt, Stuart Vogt and wife Erin, Justin Vogt and wife Mandy, Brittany Davis and husband Garrett, and Natali Maness and husband Kyle; great-grandchildren Natasha and Nick Todorovich, Meredith, Christopher, and William Vogt and Chandler and McKenna Vogt; bonus grandchildren Deanise and Rob Koenig, Nicole and James Rodriguez, Vicki and Jake Pringle, Jamie and Eric Calvert, and Jo Marie Delp and husband Scott; brother, John Welch, Jr.; sister, Nancy Lee Grantham; 11 bonus great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Vogt, Stuart Vogt, Justin Vogt, Harold Vogt, Kyle Maness, Garrett Davis and Keith Gutterson. Vennis will always be remembered as a God Fearing wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will remain in our hearts forever.
