Verdie Mae Schultz, age 70 of Seguin, passed away on February 17, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Cannon officiating followed by reception at the church hall. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 pm at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Verdie was born on August 6, 1946 in San Saba, Texas to Harry and Hildegard (Sagebiel) Oehler. She graduated from Seguin High School class of 64. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a clerk and telephone operator for 33.5 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Flora Oehler Grimm. Survivors include her husband Don Schultz; brother, Dennis Oehler and wife Daisy; sister-in-law, Shirley Manson and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers Paul Traeger, Andrew Traeger, Richard Oehler, Jerry Tennison, Jake Isaac and Sammy Sagebiel.
