Viola Maierhofer, age 89 of Seguin, passed away on May 21, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Cross Church with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Viola was born on July 4, 1927 in Guadalupe County Texas to Eddie and Martha Louise (Baerwald) Bulgerin. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bernice DeMuth. Survivors include her loving children, Betty Newman and husband Ronald, William Maierhofer and wife Sally, and Mary Alves and husband Leroy; grandchildren who knew her as "Nana", Bryan Newman and wife Olivia, Laura Dykes and husband Clint, Lisa Hollub and husband Clay, Jan Wilke and husband Jay, Michael Alves and wife Chrissy, and Marc Alves and wife Lizzie; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brooke, KayLynn, Jillian, Chance, Paige, Kyla, Andy and Maverick; sister, Alice Brown; special caregiver, Diane Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
