Ingersoll
October 3, 1922 – May 21, 2017
Virginia Mae Ingersoll, age 94, of Seguin, passed away on May 21, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 10 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Rev. Gordon Scheible officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrew's Columbarium. Virginia was born on October 3, 1922, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Herbert and Edyth (Sullivan) Johnson. Virginia worked as a secretary in Minneapolis just after the end of World War II. It was here that she met her husband, Charles Ingersoll, Jr. After they married, the couple moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Virginia worked as a high school assistant librarian. Charles then took a job in Des Moines, Iowa, where they stayed until their retirement brought them to Seguin. Virginia was a wonderful homemaker; her garden and apple trees were always lovely. She was also a wonderful cook, and loved to bake, especially apple pies. Virginia and Charles bought an RV and enjoyed travelling and meeting up with other family members at various national parks or in Colorado Springs. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, in 2008; her parents, and sister, Betty Pederson. Virginia is survived by her son, Charles Ingersoll, and wife, Melinda; daughter Linda Salazar, and husband, Genaro, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; grandchildren, Mateo Salazar and wife, Mary, of Urbandale, Iowa; Marco Salazar of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Lucas Salazar of Los Angeles, California; and Ashley Ingersoll of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Lily Salazar and Josephine Salazar; brother, Robert Johnson and wife, Margaret, of Albert Lea, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 201 E. Nolte St. Seguin, TX 78155, or the charity of choice.
