Walter Frank Lampmann, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on November 18, 2012. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Friday, November 23 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich and Pastoral Assistant Donna Lou Zipp officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Walter was born on September 18, 1931 in Seguin Texas to Walter A. and Edna Schievelbein Lampmann. Walter was a graduate of Seguin High School and received law enforcement degree for the state of Texas from Texas A & M. He will be remembered as a 38 year member of the Seguin Police Department having retired in 1991 as the Assistant Chief of Police. Walter served as past president of the Seguin Boys Club of America, past president of the Guadalupe Valley Peace Officers Association. He was a past member of the church council at Emanuel's Lutheran Church. He received the Man of the Year award from the Boys Club of America. He is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Walter and Leona W. Bargfrede and his brother-in-law, Walter Bargfrede, Jr. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Bargfrede Lampmann; sister-in-law, Lillian Bargfrede; brother-in-law, Edward Bargfrede and wife Betty; nieces and nephew, Carol Ronshausen and husband Gary, Rodney Bargfrede and wife Tammy and Brenda Franklin and husband Kelly; aunt, Erna Braune; uncle, Hugo Schievelbein. Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Bargfrede, Gary Ronshausen, Delton Gene Reiley, Reno Reiley, Michael Willard and Mark Zoboroski.
