Walter P. Smoak, Sr., loving husband and father went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2018 at the age of 66. Walter was born on January 4, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina to Jim and Oula (Sampson) Smoak. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon Smoak; sons, Mike Smoak and wife Bethany, and Walter Smoak, Jr.; daughters, Nina Wittrien and husband Alfie, and Kristen Smoak-Rockett and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Makayla Smoak, Austin Smoak, Olivia Wittrien and Myrannda Rockett; brothers, Arthur Smoak and wife Helen, Jimmy Smoak and Flenore Smoak; sisters, Jessie Mitchell and husband Greg, and Nessie Locklear and husband Maurice; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends. Walter loved his family and always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flea markets, cooking, the ocean and trips to the casino. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
