Wilburn H. "Bill" Scheffel, age 95 of Seguin, passed away on September 30, 2016. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Cannon officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Graveside services and interment with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery. Bill was born in Guadalupe County on November 3, 1920. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He will be remembered as a farmer and a rural postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a lifelong member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Lola Ulman Scheffel of Seguin; his children, Rick Scheffel and wife Vicki of Marietta Georgia, and Beverly Sczech and husband Willie of Manor Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Scheffel and Abbie Scheffel both of Marietta, Georgia, and Kim Snyder and fiancé Jonathan Jackson; great-grandchildren, Henry Snyder, Rivers Jackson, Dean Jackson and Baby Girl Jackson arriving in January 2017; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.
