Wilburn Harold Brodt of Seguin passed away September 26, 2010 at the age of 90. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 3 pm at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich and Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment under the auspices of American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 and the Seguin Fire Department will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow in the American Legion Hall. He was born July 25, 1920 in Seguin to W.R. (Willie) Brodt and Betty Neuse Brodt. He married Clydie Hester in 1940. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was employed at Randolph Air Force Base for over 32 ½ years. He was a member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church and a member of Seguin Fire Department for 56 years. He was a life member of American Legion Post 245, a member of UFW Post 1339, a member of Eagles Organization, and a member of NARFE since 1975. He was an avid bowler. He was the chairman of the State Fireman's Pension Board for 10 years and a member of the State Fireman's and Fire Marshal's Association for 75 years. He is preceded in death by his wife Clydie Brodt, his parents, granddaughter, Corinne Dwyer and great grandson, Keith Weddle. Survivors include his five daughters, Betty Lee Reiley and husband James, Barbara Coleman and fiancé Richard Von Minden, Carla Mergele and husband Richard, Dottsy Dwyer and husband Robin and Toni Winters and husband Greg; sister, Erna Dietert and husband Nolan; grandchildren, Bonnie DiRocco and husband Steve, Rick Reiley, Paula Weddle, Allen Coleman and wife Shelly, Clint Mergele and wife Mistty, Logan Mergele and fiancée Amber, William Dwyer and wife Cecily, Spencer Dwyer, Ashley Winters and Taylor Winters; great grandchildren, Brent Stehling, Brandi Stehling and fiancé Kevin May, Alyssa Reiley, Justin Weddle, Andrea Reiley, Dylan Weddle, Christian Coleman, Reed Collins and Dalton Collins; great great grandson, Kaleb Stehling. Servings as pallbearers will be Logan and Clint Mergele, Allen Coleman, Rick Reiley, Brent Stehling, Dylan and Justin Weddle and William and Spencer Dwyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Winters, Jimmy Reiley, Richard Mergele, Richard Von Minden, Robin Dwyer, Guy Weldon and Jaime Pantoja.
