Carl Cooper, Jr., age 84 of Seguin, passed away on December 25, 2010. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with military honors. Interment will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion H. U. Wood Post # 245. Carl was born May 31, 1926 in Cameron, Texas to Willard Carl Cooper, Sr. and Jessie White Cooper. He was a former member of the Lions Club in Bastrop, a former member of Rotary Club in Brownsville, and a member of American Legion H. U. Wood Post # 245 in Seguin. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a plank owner on the USS Wichita. He was a former deacon at the First Baptist Church in Bastrop. Carl will be remembered as a 63 year funeral director licensee, where he faithfully served thousands of families both locally in Guadalupe County and state wide. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Judith (Judy) Druley Cooper; sons, Russell Allen Cooper and wife Sherri, Steven Lynn Cooper, and Curtis Lloyd Cooper and wife Linda; step- daughters, Jennifer Mosteller and husband John and Joan Mailloux and husband Danny; grandchildren, Joshua Allan Cooper, Charles Jordan Cooper, Collin Reece Cooper, Jaxson Carl Cooper, Laurelyn Korpfage, Andy Smith and wife Mary, Connor Drake Mosteller and Amber Leigh Slivick and husband Jon; three great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Jane Newton and nieces and nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all funeral personnel serving with Carl and the American Legion H. U. Wood Post # 245.
