William Fred "Willie" Spreen, age 88 of Seguin, passed away on June 8, 2024.

Willie was born on May 25, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas to Lillie (Rau) and William Henry Spreen.  He was honored and blessed to serve as a Lutheran Pastoral Assistant throughout many Lutheran Churches in South Central Texas.

His loving wife of 52 years, Esther R. Blumberg Spreen, his son, William A. "Bubba" Spreen and his parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons, Todd Spreen and wife Lisa, and Steven Spreen and wife Jennifer; daughter-in-law, Linda Spreen; grandchildren, William C. "Buddy" Spreen and wife Ashley, Allyson Spreen, Isaac Spreen and Sydney Spreen; great-grandchild, Ella Spreen; brother, Louis Spreen and wife Mary Ann; brother-in-law, Clinton Blumberg, Jr. and wife Cathy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Willie's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek with the Reverend Judith Miller officiating.  A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.   Private interment will follow at a later date in the Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek Cemetery.
