Obituary

William Henry Schacht, age 91 of Seguin, Texas, formerly of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away on May 21, 2009. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A Rosary will be led by the 4th Degree Knights, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Fort Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. William was born on November 27, 1917 in St. Maries, Idaho to Henry William and Marion Gallagher Schacht. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He will be remembered as the chef for the Green Bay Packers' summer camps. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3412 and Assembly 2055 in Seguin. He had been a member for over 46 years and a 4th Degree Knight for over 40 years. He served as a Grand Knight and District Deputy. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine Schacht, daughter, Patricia Louise Lindquist, son, Henry William Schacht, his parents and his brothers, Charles Schacht and Jim Schacht. Survivors include his sons, Daniel J. Schacht and wife, Patricia Louise and Bryan K. Schacht; daughter, Regina Lee; son-in-law, Robert Lindquist and wife, Judy; brother, Donald Schacht; sister, Donna Ekerman; grandchildren, Cindy Gustafson and husband, Randy, Rob Lindquist and wife, Krystal, Laura Kuehl and husband, Craig, Michele Howard and husband, Erik, Henry Schacht, Ana Roe and husband, Jason, Daniel W. Schacht and wife, Elaine, and Jammie Locke; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to any Catholic charity of choice.
