Willie Sassenhagen, Jr., age 67 of Seguin, passed away on June 22, 2015. Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 5 p.m. followed by the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Willie was born on September 23, 1947 in Seguin Texas to Willie and Tomasita (Rodriguez) Sassenhagen. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and later in the United States Army Reserves. He enjoyed a long career with the Texas Department of Transportation. His parents precede him in death as does his son, William (Billy) Sassenhagen, and brother, Johnny "Boy" Sassehagen. Survivors include his loving wife, Carolina Sassenhagen; children, Priscilla Luna and husband Simon, Jr., Abigail "Abby" Williams and husband Todd, Victor Mendoza and wife Terri, Venisa Gaitan, George Mendoza and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Noah Williams, Lucas Williams, Raphael J. Gaitan, Andrew D. Gaitan, Kaleb A. Mendoza, Kamila Ann Mendoza, Alyxes Mendoza; sisters and brothers, Gloria Gutierrez and husband Joe, Felix Sassenhagen, Sr. and wife Gregoria, Beatrice Bencomo and husband Paul, Joe Sassenhagen and wife Mary Lou and Jo Ann Sutherland and husband Emilio, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be Raphael J. Gaitan, Andrew D. Gaitan, Kaleb A. Mendoza, Ignacio Rodriguez, Victor A. Mendoza, Felix Sassenhagen, Jr., Jose Louis Sassenhagen, and Joey Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Flores.
