Wilma "Jo" Oakley Carroll, age 88 of Seguin, passed away on April 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery. Jo was born on April 7, 1931 in Brownwood, Texas to Douglas and Lois (Griffin) Grogan. Jo went to High School in Zephyr, Texas. She worked in the airline industry for Trans Texas Airlines. She and her first husband Arthur O. Oakley got married in 1961. She was fond of fishing and gardening, traveling and cruising. She also loved athletics, she enjoyed baseball and loved watching sports teams such as the Houston Astros and the Houston Oilers. She attended Daniel Baker College. She especially loved her dogs and her Appaloosa horses. Bob and Jo moved to Seguin Texas in 1970 where Bob was employed by SMI. After Bob passed away Jo married James Carroll, who had also lost his spouse, they resided in Seguin from 2006 until her passing. Jo is preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, her 3 brothers and a sister. Survivors include her loving husband, BGen James L. "Jim" Carroll, USA, RET.; sister, Billy Huwyler; children, Tracy Oakley and wife Liz, Jim Oakley and wife Sandy, and Todd Oakley; numerous nieces, nephews cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, Jim's daughters Susannah Card, Francesca and their offspring, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Todd Card, Randall Card, Victor Lopez, Ian Oakley, Malachi De la Torre and Micah De la Torre . Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, Texas, 76708 or the charity of one's choice.
