Wright "Coach" Wilburn Hampton, age 71 of Mc Queeney Texas passed away on July 25, 2008. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary Monday, July 28, 2008 from 12 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7p.m. Funeral services with military honors will be conducted on Tuesday July 29, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church at 4 p.m. with Rev. Tim Bauerkemper and Rev. William Lange officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Wright was born on September 2, 1936 in Beckley, West Virginia to Eldred Jack and Fesa Marie Adkins Hampton. Wright spent his childhood in Lillybrook, West Virginia and graduated from Stoco High School in Cole City, West Virginia in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and worked for the United States Postal Service for 15 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Ann Hampton Corwin. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn Jean Walter Hampton; brother, Doug Hampton and wife Carolyn of Delaware, Ohio; daughters, Valieta Small and husband Woody of Navarre, Florida, Mary Hanog and husband Mike of Tucson, Arizona, Carla Ortiz and husband Rick of Bryan, Texas; son, Jack and wife, Patty of Seguin, Texas; 7 grandchildren, David and Lin Marie Small, Donnell Hanog, Richelle and Ricky Ortiz, Amanda and Christian Hampton; Nephews, Jason and Scott Hampton and David Corwin. Serving as pallbearers will be Guy Ferrell, Mike Heckmann, Mark Heckmann, Jerry Wulf, Jesse Galas and Steve Evilsizer. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
