First Methodist Church
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Central time)
Beloved and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother Clara Ann Davis Warfield, 93, of Seguin went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2025. She was born May 20, 1932 in Tuleta, TX, the daughter of the late Eldo E. and Anna A. (Hamilton) Davis from Beeville, TX. She attended Trinity University, San Antonio, TX and married Billy Warfield on June 14, 1952.
She moved with her husband and family to the Rio Grand Valley in 1963 where she began her career as a piano teacher. In the later sixties they opened a rental center where her bookkeeping skills helped out immensely. From that business she branched out into catering and did that for many years while also working as a bookkeeper for a local cattleman. In 1983 they relocated to Seguin where she continued being involved with the local church while maintaining her piano teaching business.
She and Billy have been active church members of First Methodist Church, Seguin, TX since 1983. A devoted Christian with an active personal program, she dedicated the past 42 years by involving herself with the church choir, vespers music and United Methodist Women. She maintained a loving household raising 4 kids. Her home-made birthday cakes were legendary as were her home cooked meals and her excellent seamstress skills were evident from shirts to dresses made for the family.
When no longer able to travel, she kept her family close through frequent phone calls, letters and cards. She made certain that all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were remembered and aware of the important place they each held in her heart.
Her survivors include three children, Cheryl E. Waggoner and husband Allan of Norfolk, NE, Mark D. Warfield, and Melanie L. Bouquet and husband, Rocky (deceased); eight grandchildren, April L. Fernandez and husband Ruben, Billy Scott Waggoner and wife Jennifer, Eric D. Waggoner, Rachel E. Waggoner, Kayla E. Bouquet Schlueter McLemore and husband, Josh, Lauren Bouquet, Amy C. Bouquet Williams and husband, Daniel, Tyler E. Bouquet, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Franklin E. Davis, Cecil R. Davis, Eldo E. Davis, Jr., sister Dorothy Davis, one son David B. Warfield and her lifelong friend, companion and husband, Billy Warfield.
A celebration of life service honoring and celebrating the life of our much-loved wife, mother and friend will be held at the First Methodist Church, Seguin, on Saturday, March 7 at 11 AM.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of a contribution to the First Methodist Church in Seguin, 710 N. Austin, Seguin, Tx., 78155.
